SHELBY COUNTY, TN (LPL/SCHD) — El Departamento de Salud del Condado de Shelby invita a miembros del público a una ceremonia innovadora para marcar el inicio de la construcción en su nueva sede en el distrito médico.

El alcalde del condado de Shelby, Lee Harris, y muchos miembros de la Junta de Comisionados del condado de Shelby estarán presentes para celebrar la culminación de años de planificación para esta nueva y tan necesaria instalación de departamento de servicios de salud.

“La instalación existente del Departamento de Salud en 814 Jefferson consta de dos edificios, uno construido en la década de 1950 y el otro en la década de 1970. Ambos están fechados y no satisfacen las necesidades actuales del Departamento de Salud“, dijo la Directora del Departamento de Salud, Alisa Haushalter. “Las nuevas instalaciones de 79.000 pies cuadrados incorporarán modernas técnicas de diseño y nuevas tecnologías para hacer que los servicios del Departamento de Salud sean más accesibles para todas las personas del Condado de Shelby”.
Las nuevas instalaciones se construirán en la esquina suroeste de Jefferson y North Manassas. Una vez que la construcción este completa, los edificios antiguos serán demolidos para dar paso a un estacionamiento.
La firma de arquitectura brg3s diseñó la instalación y Turner Construction Company está a cargo de la construcción.
El estacionamiento para la ceremonia de inauguración estará disponible en 265 Leath Street, con servicio de transporte gratuito desde y hacia el sitio innovador en 814 Jefferson.

SHELBY COUNTY, TN (SCHD) — The Shelby County Health Department invites members of the public and the
media to a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction on its new headquarters facility in the medical district.

Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris and many members of the Shelby County Board of Commissioners will be
present to celebrate the culmination of years of planning for this much-needed new facility for Health
Department services. Mayor Harris said, “The Shelby County Health Department does vital work to protect
and promote the health of all Shelby County residents. This state-of-the-art new facility will allow the
dedicated professionals at the Health Department to leverage new technology and evidence-based practices to better serve our citizens.”
“The existing Health Department facility at 814 Jefferson consists of two buildings, one built in the 1950s and the other in the 1970s. Both are dated and do not serve the Health Department’s current needs,” said Health Department Director Alisa Haushalter. “The new 79,000-square-foot facility will incorporate modern design techniques and new technologies to make Health Department services more accessible to all the people of Shelby County.”
The new facility will be built at the southwest corner of Jefferson and North Manassas. Once construction is
complete, the old buildings will be torn down to make way for a parking lot.
Architecture firm brg3s designed the facility and Turner Construction Company is in charge of construction.
Parking for the groundbreaking ceremony will be available at 265 Leath Street, with free shuttles to and from the groundbreaking site at 814 Jefferson.
