Russia claims having destroyed US, European weapons depot in Ukraine

Moscow, Apr 27 (EFE).- Russia on Wednesday claimed having destroyed using long-range missiles an arms depot storing weapons supplied by the United States and European countries in Zaporizhzhia, in southeastern Ukraine.

The Russian defense ministry said early morning that its long-range, high-precision Kalibr missiles had “destroyed hangars with a large batch of foreign weapons and ammunition supplied to Ukrainian troops by the United States and European countries.”

The ministry spokesperson, Igor Konashenkov, further said that the Russian airforce hit 59 Ukrainian military installations overnight, including 50 assembly areas for Ukrainian soldiers and military equipment, and four warehouses with weapons and ammunition.

They also shot down a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system in the Slovyansk area, Konashenkov added.

The spokesperson said that as a result of these attacks more than 120 “nationalists” were killed and 35 vehicles and armored vehicles were destroyed.

The Russian Missile Troops and Artillery completed a total of 537 missions in Ukraine overnight, during which they attacked 432 areas having a concentration of soldiers and military equipment, 67 artillery positions, two batteries of multiple rocket launch systems and seven ammunition depots, he said.
