Drones shot down near military base in Moscow region, governor says

Moscow, June 21 (EFE).- Two drones were shot down as they approached military warehouses in Moscow region on Wednesday, its governor said.

Andrei Vorobyov wrote on Telegram that the drones crashed in the settlement of Kalininets in Naro-Fominsk district at approximately 5.30 am and 5.50 am (02:30 and 02:50 GMT) as they approached the warehouses of a military base.

The settlement is located about 50 kilometers southwest of the Russian capital.

Vorobyov added that debris was found, and there was no damage or casualties.

The official TASS news agency reported that three drones were suppressed by “electronic warfare” and crashed on approach to objects in Moscow region, citing the defense ministry.

The incident occurred near the deployment area of the Taman division in Naro-Fominsk.

In May, two drones were destroyed above the Kremlin and later that month several drones hit Moscow apartment blocks. EFE
