MEMPHIS, TN (Commercial Appeal) — Vice President Mike Pence visit Memphis on Sunday and visit the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, then deliver remarks at the Holy City Church of God in Christ.

The visit is in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

Dignitaries were present to greet Pence at the Memphis Air National Guard Base, including Maj. Gen. Jeffery H. Holmes, adjutant general for the state of Tennessee; Col. Jason Glass, assistant adjutant general; Congressman David Kustoff and his wife, Roberta.

Holy City Church of God in Christ was launched in the summer of 1987, according to the church’s website. Their current building has a sanctuary that seats more than 1,000, making it one of the largest COGIC churches in Memphis.
