Construction Crews Place New Bridge On University Of Memphis Campus
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/localmemphis.com) — Equipos de construcción inician la colocación del nuevo puente peatonal en el campus de la Universidad de Memphis el sábado.
El puente fue construido sobre las vías del tren y la avenida sur. Esto les dará a los estudiantes una forma más segura de caminar entre las partes norte y sur del campus.
Un estudiante dijo que la ayudará a llegar a clase a tiempo y quemar algunas calorías adicionales.
“Siento que será una ayuda, sabes. No llegaremos tarde, tan tarde. Los pasos parecen bastante empinados, nos hará sudar, pero creo que nos beneficiará mucho “, dijo Madisyn Washington, estudiante de segundo año en la U de M.
El puente es parte de un proyecto de $33 millones de dólares que también incluirá un nuevo estacionamiento y un anfiteatro.
La construcción deberá estar terminada en agosto.

MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) — Construction crews were seen lifting the new pedestrian bridge into place on the University of Memphis campus Saturday.
The bridge was built over the train tracks and Southern Avenue. This will give students a safer way to walk between the northern and southern portions of campus.
One student told that it will help her get to class on time and burn some extra calories.
“I feel like it will be a help, you know. We won’t be late, as late. The steps look pretty steep, but that look like that’s going to be a hassle, but I think it’s going to benefit us a lot,” said Madisyn Washington, a sophomore at U of M.
The bridge is part of a $33 million-dollar project that will also include a new parking garage and amphitheater.
Construction should be completed by August.
