Biden invites UAE leader to visit US

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Jul 16 (EFE).- Joe Biden on Saturday invited the president of the United Arab Emirates Mohamed bin Zayed to visit the United States in a gesture of friendship between the nations.

The US president formally extended the invitation during a meeting at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Jeddah during his visit to the Middle East.

“Challenges you face today only make it a heck of a lot more important we spend time together,” he told the UAE leader.

Biden and Bin Zayed this week took part in the I2U2 summit alongside Israel’s caretaker prime minister Yair Lapid and India’s prime minister Narendra Modi.

During the meeting, the UAE said it would invest $2 billion in Indian agricultural development to combat the looming global food crisis.

Saudi Arabia is Biden’s last stop on his Middle East tour. EFE
