Moscow, Dec 24 (EFE).- At least 22 people have died after a fire ripped through an illegal nursing home in the Russian city of Kemerovo, located in central Siberia, local authorities said.
Firefighters were called to the facility, which was operating without a license, at 10.22pm on Friday, officials added.
The blaze engulfed an area of 180 square meters, Russian news agency TASS reported.
Firefighters managed to put the blaze out an hour after arriving and continued efforts to rescue victims amid temperatures as low as -20C (-4F).
The fire was reported to have been started by a faulty stove. EFE
