Shelby County Health Department Has Opened a New Covid-19 Testing Site Now Open in North Memphis

SHELBY COUNTY, TN (SCHD) — Shelby County Health Department has opened a new drive[1]thru COVID-19 mass testing site to make testing more available in North Memphis. It is located at Gethsemane Garden Church of God in Christ at 1740 Vollintine Avenue, Memphis, TN 38107.
WHAT: New Drive-thru COVID-19 Testing Site
WHERE: 1740 Vollintine Avenue, Memphis, TN 38107
WHEN: Monday – Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Open 8:00 a.m. to
6:00p.m. every other Wednesday beginning February 16, 2022
COST: Free of charge. No insurance required
“Our goal is to make COVID-19 testing convenient and available to everyone in Shelby County so that they can be tested whenever needed,” said Shelby County Health Director Dr. Michelle Taylor. “Frequent testing is one of our most valuable weapons in the fight against COVID-19. We are glad to be able to make this drive-thru site available and convenient for people in North Memphis and the northern part of Shelby County.”

There are testing sites located throughout Shelby County. Residents are asked to seek out testing at the community testing sites rather than going to hospital emergency rooms for COVID-19 testing.
The new drive-thru testing site at 1740 Vollintine Avenue is funded through a partnership with the Tennessee Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
