Liverpool’s Díaz says Champions League tie with Real Madrid dream come true

Liverpool, England, May 25 (EFE).- Liverpool winger Luis Díaz is gearing up to play out his “dream” when the Premier League team takes on Real Madrid in the Champions League final this weekend.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing in the Champions League, even more so against a team like Real Madrid, for me it’s living a dream,” the Colombian told reporters during a media event in Liverpool.

“I’ll try to make the most of this moment and be happy.”

The 25-year-old said the Reds were aware of the challenge that awaits them when the final gets underway in Paris on Saturday.

“We know what Real Madrid are like, we know they are a great team with a lot of experience. But, like I’ve said, we have a great team, we play a good game, and we will counter what they will bring.

“There’s no favoritism here, it’s a final, it’s a game where you have to play minute by minute. We’ll give 100%.”

Díaz has shone with Liverpool since his arrival from Porto this year, scoring four in 13 appearances and carving out a space among a star-studded cast of Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah, Firmino and Diogo Jota.

Jürgen Klopp’s men are set to arrive in Paris with a number of injury concerns as Spanish playmaker Thiago looks doubtful.EFE
