Woman Who Shot Alleged Car Burglar Not Facing Charges, Police Say
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/WREG) — Una mujer que fue puesta bajo custodia policial después de dispararle al hombre que intentó irrumpir en su auto no enfrentará cargos criminales, dice la policía de Memphis.
Mientras tanto, Jhatavieus Corley, el presunto ladrón a quien disparó, fue acusado de robo de un vehículo.
La policía respondió a un tiroteo el jueves por la mañana en Brentwood Place Apartments, frente a Sycamore View.
Según los vecinos, una mujer que vivía en el complejo encontró al hombre que intentaba robar su automóvil y le disparó en el brazo.
Cuando llegó la policía, detuvieron a la mujer.
Corley fue llevado por una ambulancia y la policía dice que se espera que sobreviva a sus heridas.

Police responded to a shooting Thursday morning at the Brentwood Place Apartments off Sycamore View.
According to neighbors, a woman who lived at the complex caught a man trying to break into her car and shot him in the arm.
When police arrived, they took the woman into custody.
Corley was taken away by ambulance and police say he is expected to survive his injuries.
Neighbors said the man was unarmed. They also said he broke into other vehicles at the complex.
MPD spokesman Louis Brownlee said that people have the right to defend themselves and others, but not property. He said he believes the woman was in fear for her life in this case.
