2023 International Tamale Festival: A Delight for the Palate
El Festival Internacional del Tamal 2023: una delicia para el paladar

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — A new local and gastronomic event is about to take place in town: the “2023 International Tamale Festival,” which will be held at the Memphis Music Room this Sunday, September 3, from 12 PM to 6 PM.
Gabriel Castiblanco, the organizer of the event, talked about the details of the festival in an interview with La Prensa Latina Media. He says that this festival “is not a contest, but rather an event where locally produced tamales will be tested. A contest is not attractive to us because the ruling can be diverse and very subjective depending on the preference of flavors.”
According to Castiblanco, attendants will be able to try tamales from El Salvador, Honduras, Venezuela, and other participating nations at the “2023 International Tamale Festival.” In addition, there will be other dishes from Latin American countries – Tu Combito Express, for example, will be representing the typical flavors of Venezuela – and live entertainment with some musical groups and Aditi Amor.
It is worth mentioning that the name of the tamales varies according to the country of origin. Some of those names are: chuchitos, hallacas, humitas, nacatamales, pamonha, amarrao, bacán, bollo, envuelto, huminta, mapiro, mandullo, tayuyo, and zurullo.
Accompanied or alone, with or without sauce, spicy or sweet, the truth is that tamales are part of the Latin American culture and can be enjoyed one taste at a time.

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — Para los amantes de la comida, un nuevo evento local y gastronómico les hará chuparse los dedos: el “Festival Internacional del Tamal 2023”.
El “Festival Internacional del Tamal 2023” se llevará a cabo en el Memphis Music Room este domingo, 3 de septiembre, desde las 12 PM hasta las 6 PM.
Gabriel Castiblanco, el organizador del evento, estuvo dando a conocer los detalles de dicho festival en una entrevista con La Prensa Latina Media. Dice que este festival “no es un concurso, sino un evento donde se probarán los tamales que se producen localmente. Un concurso no se nos hace atractivo debido a que el fallo puede ser diverso y muy subjetivo dependiendo de la preferencia de sabores”.
Según Castiblanco, en el “Festival Internacional del Tamal 2023” uno podrá probar tamales con la sazón de El Salvador, Honduras, Venezuela y otras naciones participantes. Además, habrá comida en general de otros países de Latinoamérica –Tu Combito Express, por ejemplo, representará los sabores típicos de Venezuela– y entretenimiento en vivo con algunos grupos musicales y la cantante Aditi Amor.
