MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/The Daily Memphian) Los residentes de Memphis tendrán la oportunidad de ver por primera vez el futuro del Tom Lee Park en un nuevo centro de atracción dentro del Beale Street Landing.

El centro contará con animaciones por computadora y experiencias de realidad virtual inmersiva, un modelo a escala y nuevas representaciones para permitir a los visitantes ver e interactuar con el futuro de Tom Lee Park, según un comunicado.

Además de ver e interactuar con el futuro parque, los visitantes también podrán aprender más sobre el hombre del que lleva el nombre, Tom Lee.

El parque se unirá a una lista de proyectos terminados y en curso a lo largo de la orilla del río Mississippi, que incluyen River Garden, River Line y la restauración de Cobblestone Landing. Será diseñado por Studio Gang, una firma de arquitectura y diseño urbano con sede en Chicago, y SCAPE, un estudio de arquitectura del paisaje y diseño urbano con sede en la ciudad de Nueva York.

Los fondos provendrán de lo recaudado de la campaña capital de $70 millones de Memphis River Parks Partnership que ha apoyado a River Garden, River Line y la restauración de los adoquines. Se espera que la construcción comience en junio, y que se complete a fines del próximo año.

MEMPHIS, TN (The Daily Memphian) Memphians will have the chance to get a first look at the future of Tom Lee Park at a new engagement center inside Beale Street Landing.

The center will feature animations and immersive virtual reality experiences, a scale model and new renderings to allow visitors to see and interact with the future of Tom Lee Park, according to a release.

In addition to seeing and interacting with the future park, visitors will also be able to learn more about the man it was named after, Tom Lee.

The park will join a list of completed and in-progress projects along the riverfront, including the River Garden, River Line and the restoration of Cobblestone Landing. It will be designed by Studio Gang, a Chicago-based architecture and urban design firm, and SCAPE, a New York City-based landscape architecture and urban design studio.

Funding will come from the balance of Memphis River Parks Partnership’s $70 million capital campaign that has supported River Garden, River Line and restoration of the cobblestones. Construction is expected to begin in June, with completion by the end of next year.

Hours for the engagement center will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
