The growth of the Hispanic population in Memphis has been so remarkable in recent years that even in music you can feel the difference. Proof of this is “Memphis Música,” an event that will be held four times during the Redbirds’ 2019 season as part of the MiLB’s “Fun Cup,” a new series that has been specifically designed to embrace and celebrate the culture and values that resonate most among the local Hispanic/Latino communities of the participating teams.

“‘Memphis Música’ emphasizes how music is a vibrant part of both Hispanic culture and the culture of Memphis,” Redbirds President/GM Craig Unger said. “From celebrations, to gatherings, to everyday life, ‘the universal language’ is a common thread between the Latin community and ‘The Birthplace of Rock and Roll.’”

The first “Memphis Música” event will be on Monday, June 17, at 6:35 PM; the second game will be held on Monday, July 1, at 6:35 PM; the third game will take place on Monday, August 5, at 6:35 PM; and the last one will be on August 19 at the same time.
