Gunman kills 2, injures 4 in central Paris

Paris, Dec 23 (EFE).- A shooting in central Paris Friday left two people dead and four injured, authorities said.

An alleged gunman, reported to be in his 60s, has been arrested.

The shooting took place in the French capital’s 10th arrondissement, near a Kurdish community center. The motives are as yet unknown.

Paris prosecutors have opened an investigation for murder, voluntary homicide and aggravated violence but not terrorism for the moment.

Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo thanked the emergency services for their quick response and expressed her condolences to the victims. EFE
