Crash in Raleigh Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

MEMPHIS, TN (ABC 24 News) — One person is dead, and two others were injured after a speeding car crashed into a pole in Raleigh early Monday morning, closing all lanes in the area of Frayser-Raleigh Road and Hawkins Mill Road.
Memphis Police officers saw a vehicle in the area of Coleman Cove and Yale Road violating traffic laws just before 2 a.m., according to the police report. The vehicle, traveling at a high-speed rate, lost control in the 3900 block of Frayser-Raleigh Road and hit a pole.
A man was taken to Regional One Health in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. Two women were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition and before getting released. They are now speaking with investigators.
Police said one person had run away from the scene.
Due to the accident, officers have closed all lanes in the area of Frayser-Raleigh Road and Hawkins Mill Road.
Memphis Police are investigating along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The investigation is ongoing.
