Haaland hat-trick as City thrash Fulham

Sports Desk, Sep 2 (EFE).- Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Manchester City hammered Fulham 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and maintained their winning start to the season.

The Norwegian created the game’s opening goal when he squared the ball for Julian Alvarez to finish, although Fulham immediately equalized after Tim Ream bundled in from a corner.

Haaland got his first goal of the game early in the second half, with the score at 2-1, after Alvarez had played him in.

He added his second from the penalty spot after Alvarez had been brought down, before completing his hat-trick with a crisp finish from Sergio Gomez’s cut back.

Nathan Ake got City’s second goal just before the half-time break in controversial circumstances, with Fulham convinced that the effort should have been ruled out because Manuel Akanji, in an offside position, was obstructing Bernd Leno in goal. EFE
