Haaland rescues 10-man City with 2-1 over Fulham

Sports Desk, Nov 5 (EFE).- Norwegian phenomenon Erling Haaland came off the bench to score the winning goal in a 2-1 victory for Manchester City against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Haaland, who had missed several matches with an injury, converted from the penalty spot after Antonee Robinson had needlessly tripped Kevin de Bruyne in stoppage time at the end of the game.

City had opened the scoring early through Julian Alvarez, but were pegged back after Andreas Perreira scored a penalty following a clumsy challenge by Joao Cancelo on Harry Wilson that also saw the Portuguese receive a straight red card.

Haaland thought he had equalized only moments after coming onto the pitch, but his header was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for offside.

The win puts City back on top of the Premier League, one point ahead of Arsenal, who travel to Chelsea on Sunday.

Fulham, meanwhile, stay in 8th position in the table. EFE
