The German confectionery Haribo will celebrate its 100th anniversary on Sunday. The company was founded by Hans Riegel on 13 December 1920. The best-known product is the wine gum Goldbaeren (Golden Bears), also known as Gummibaerchen (Gummy Bears), which were invented just two years after the company was founded. Around 160 million Goldbaeren leave the Haribo factories around the world every day.
