Man Throws Baby After Argument With Girlfriend

MEMPHIS, TN (WREG) — A man is accused of throwing his 1-year-old son after an argument with his girlfriend at a Memphis hotel.
Police say Edwin Conner and his girlfriend were arguing at the Airport Inn when he punched her in the face and began strangling her.
The victim said she lost consciousness and woke up to Conner hitting her in the face again. He then began pulling her hair and biting her head, arms, and back.
She eventually got away from Conner, left the room, and called police. However, Conner left the hotel before the officers arrived.
Around three hours later, the officers returned to the hotel where the victim said Conner came back and took their son from the backseat of her car as she was getting ready to leave.
Conner allegedly ran across the parking lot and dangled the child over a fence as if to drop him over it.
When the victim approached Conner, he pulled the child back over the fence, threw him on the ground, and ran away.
Police say the child sustained bruises and cuts to his head and lip.
Officers eventually found Conner in the area and took him into custody.
Conner was charged with child abuse and neglect and evading arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 3.

La policía dice que Edwin Conner y su novia estaban discutiendo en el Airport Inn cuando él la golpeó en la cara y comenzó a estrangularla.
La víctima dijo que perdió el conocimiento y se despertó cuando Conner la golpeó en la cara nuevamente. Luego comenzó a jalarle el cabello y a morderle la cabeza, los brazos y la espalda.
Eventualmente se alejó de Conner, salió de la habitación y llamó a la policía. Sin embargo, Conner salió del hotel antes de que llegaran los oficiales.
Alrededor de tres horas después, los oficiales regresaron al hotel donde la víctima dijo que Conner regresó y sacó a su hijo del asiento trasero de su automóvil mientras se preparaba para irse.
Supuestamente, Conner cruzó corriendo el estacionamiento y puso al niño sobre una cerca como si fuera a dejarlo caer.
Cuando la víctima se acercó a Conner, tiró del niño por encima de la cerca, lo arrojó al suelo y salió corriendo.
La policía dice que el niño sufrió moretones y cortes en la cabeza y el labio.
Los oficiales finalmente encontraron a Conner en el área y lo detuvieron.
Conner fue acusado de abuso y negligencia infantil y evasión del arresto. Está programado para comparecer ante el tribunal el 3 de enero.
