Harry Kane says will stay at Tottenham, ends exit bid for now

Sports Desk, Aug 25 (EFE).- England captain Harry Kane on Wednesday confirmed he would remain at English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur this summer after weeks of rumors surrounding his future.

In a social media post, striker Kane said: “It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks.

“I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success,” he added.

Kane had been heavily linked with a potential move to Manchester City but it seems his bid to move away from the North London club will be put on ice for now.

The England captain has spoken in the past of his desire to win trophies.

Spurs came agonizingly close to winning the Champions League in 2018/19 but lost in the final to Liverpool.

Tottenham have won both their opening matches this campaign, first against Manchester City and then Wolverhampton Wanderers, in which Kane featured as a substitute.EFE
