Harry, Meghan welcome baby daughter

Los Angeles, Jun 6 (EFE).- Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby girl, who they have named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the pair announced on Sunday.

Lili, after the nickname of her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, was born on Friday at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.

“It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world,” the couple’s press secretary said in a statement to the press.

Lili is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s second child after Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born in 2019.

Harry and Meghan now live in the United States after they announced they were stepping back as senior members of the British royal family in February 2020.

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple revealed that they stepped down due to negative and racist press coverage they received.
