London, Jun 8 (EFE).- Convicted sex offender and former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein will be charged with two counts of indecent assault against a woman in London in 1996, British prosecutors said Wednesday.
The Crown Prosecution Service said the charges were authorized after the Metropolitan Police found enough evidence for a case.
In 2020, Weinstein, 70, was sentenced to 23 years in prison for criminal sexual assault in the first degree and rape in the third degree after being found guilty by a New York court.
In 2017, dozens of women came forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual misconduct, harassment and rape, spurring on the so-called MeToo movement. EFE
