Haute couture shows go on in Paris amid nationwide unrest

Paris, Jul 4 (EFE).- Paris’ haute couture fashion week was underway on Tuesday, after successive nights of rioting and chaos across France following the fatal police shooting of a 17-year-old during a traffic stop.

French fashion house Chanel presented its creations for the Fall/Winter 2023/2024 collection at a show at the Port de la Conférence on the River Seine in the heart of the French capital. Stéphane Rolland was also scheduled to display its latest pieces.

Meanwhile, less than a mile away at the Elysee Palace, French president Emmanuel Macron was meeting with mayors of cities that have been affected by the riots that erupted after Nahel M was shot dead by police last week. EFE
