Bon Jovi founding member, Alec John, dies at 70

Los Angeles, US, Jun 6 (EFE).- Alec John Such, the bassist and one of the founding members of US rock band Bon Jovi, died at the age of 70, the frontman of the rock band said on Sunday.

“We are heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of our dear friend Alec John Such. He was an original. As a founding member of Bon Jovi, Alec was integral to the formation of our band,” Jon Bon Jovi said on Twitter.

“To be honest, we found our way to each other (through) him,” the singer-songwriter said.

Bon Jovi said Such was a childhood friend of drummer Tico Torres and brought guitarist Richie Sambora to see the group perform.

“Alec was always wild and full of life. Today those special memories bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. We’ll miss him dearly.”

The American rock band is named after its lead singer and founder, Jon Bon Jovi, also an actor and record producer. EFE
