Rome, Jul 18 (EFE).- Zlatan Ibrahimovic extended his Milan contract by one year until June 2023, the reigning Serie A champion announced on Monday.
“AC Milan is pleased to announce the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimović’s contract until June 30, 2023. The Swedish forward will continue to wear the number 11 shirt,” the club said in a brief statement.
Although the club did not provide further details, local media estimated the salary of the Swedish forward at 1 million euros for the season, plus bonuses.
The player, who turns 41 in October, has undergone knee surgery in May that will keep him out of action for a further five to six months.
The knee injury limited his participation to 23 out of 38 Serie A matches Milan played last season.
He revealed he heavily relied on painkillers and other medications to cope with the injury that dogged him for six months.EFE
