Rome, Jun 3 (efe-epa).- AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived back in Italy on Wednesday after a trip to his home country of Sweden.
The 38-year-old is due to undergo medical examinations after sustaining a muscular injury during training at the club’s ground Milanello last week.
Ibrahimovic landed back in the Italian city of Milan on a flight from Stockholm after spending the last 10 days in Sweden and was seen in images online wearing dark glasses and a mask.
The Swedish star had to leave training on 25 May due to an injury to his right calf.
It was feared he had damaged his Achilles tendon but this was later ruled out.
Milan said at the time that the club would carry out further medical tests after 10 days, which would be this Thursday or Friday.
Ibrahimovic has previously played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, ??Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United and Los Angeles Galaxy.
He has scored four goals in 10 games for Milan, a club he returned to in January after an earlier two-year stint between 2010 and 2012.
The forward first joined the Italian side in the last few days of August 2010, following a “debated experience” at Barcelona, according to Milan’s website.
He continued with his specialization in winning domestic leagues after scoring 14 goals to help Milan secure the Scudetto, a decoration worn by Italian clubs that have won the annual championship in the previous season.
It was Ibrahimovic’s eighth consecutive championship after winning titles with Ajax, Juventus (later revoked), Inter Milan and Barcelona.
He was named league top scorer with 28 goals in the following season which kicked off with a victory for Milan in the Italian League Super Cup over derby rivals Inter.
