Mbappé to snub Real offer, stay at PSG

Paris, May 21 (EFE).- French striker Kylian Mbappé has agreed in principle to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, L’Équipe reported on Saturday.

Mbappé had widely been tipped to join Spanish champions Real Madrid, but negotiations on a three-year contract extension with PSG – which has not yet been signed – were extended until Saturday, according to the newspaper, which added that the player is “unlikely” to change his mind.

Mbappé is due to play in PSG’s last match of the season at the Parc des Princes against Metz on Saturday night.

The club plans to pay tribute to several of its players who are departing – including Angel di Maria – and receive the Ligue 1 champions’ trophy, the 10th in the club’s history.

Mbappé could take advantage of the occasion to announce his decision to stay in the French capital, although some media report that he will confirm his decision on Sunday or even next week.

If the news of the extension is confirmed, it would put an end to a long-running saga in which the player has debated between extending his contract with PSG or accepting Real Madrid’s lucrative offer. EFE
