La cultura, una mano humanitaria
Culture, a Humanitarian Hand

Dentro del concepto de la cultura se enmarcan ocho elementos que la hacen parte de todas las actividades que construyen nuestra sociedad. Estos ocho elementos son: 1) la organización social (familias, etnias, comunidades y grupos), 2) las tradiciones grupales, 3) los lenguajes, 4) las artes, 5) el gobierno (incluyendo el tesoro nacional y la economía), 6) la educación, 7) los modos de comunicación, y 8) el trato entre los miembros de la misma cultura y hacia otros. Este último elemento es la clave para hacer de la cultura una mano humanitaria.
Bien sabemos que los cambios siempre producen retos; acoger a un extraño o tenderle la mano a una persona es una tarea que requiere de alto nivel de madurez cultural. Ayudar al prójimo no es tarea fácil, especialmente porque cada persona tiene que luchar sus propias batallas. El miedo a descuadrar nuestras finanzas puede interponerse y hacernos sentir que la situación no se presta para que colaboremos. Pero si basamos nuestro aporte en el buen trato que se le puede dar a la gente, estaremos entonces usando la cultura como una mano humanitaria.
Una buena palabra, una llamada telefónica o un abrazo le pueden cambiar el día al forastero o a quien se encuentra lejos y no ve esperanzas. Con este apoyo, que se basa en el buen trato que aprendimos de nuestros ancestros, le daremos ánimos a los que buscan soluciones. La Filantropía de Cultura es el amor al ser humano a través del Comportamiento Cultural (CC) que ayuda a promover el progreso económico y la innovación social. Arropar a un necesitado con buen trato y bondad será ciertamente un aporte a este calor cultural que tanto necesita nuestro mundo en este momento.

There are eight fundamental elements that conform the concept of culture and they are part of all the activities that interact to build our society. Those eight elements are: 1) social organization (families, tribes, and communities), 2) shared traditions, 3) languages, 4) the arts, 5) government (including national treasure and the economy), 6) education, 7) means of communication, and 8) the way members treat each other and care towards others. This last element is the key to making culture a humanitarian hand.
We know that changes always bring challenges; welcoming a stranger or reaching out to a person is a task that requires a high level of cultural maturity. Helping others is not an easy task, especially because people have to fight their own battles. The fear of spending more than allowed in our budget can interfere with our ability to contribute funds and make us feel that the situation does not lend itself for us to get involved. However, if we focus our contribution on treating people kindly, we will be using culture as a humanitarian hand. A good word, a phone call, or a hug can change a stranger’s day or the lives of those who are far away and do not see any hope. With this support, based on the kind treatment we’ve learned from our ancestors, we will encourage positive solutions. Culture Philanthropy is the love of humankind through Cultural Behavior (CC) that helps promote economic progress and social innovation. To shelter the needy with kindness will certainly be a contribution to this cultural human warmth that our world needs so much at this point in time.
