Nadal undergoes pulsed radiofrequency treatment on his foot

Palma, Spain, Jun 8 (EFE).- Rafael Nadal has undergone a pulsed radiofrequency stimulation treatment for his chronic left foot injury at a Barcelona clinic, his communication team announced on Wednesday.

“Rafa is already at home and will spend three or four days doing normal maintaining physical activity,” his communication team said in a statement.

“Depending on the effect of the treatment, and as long as it’s positive, he will later return to training on court,” the statement added.

The Spaniard claimed on Sunday his record-extending 14th French Open title, which brought his Grand Slam tally to 22, two more than his closest rivals; Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

The 36-year-old resorted to anesthesia injections to compete and hoist the clay-court major title, a drastic measure he said he would not adopt for Wimbledon later this month.EFE
