Kremlin: No Putin-Zelenskyy meeting until written agreements in place
Moscow, Apr 3 (EFE).- Russian leader Vladimir Putin will only meet with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy once peace negotiators have an agreement in writing, the Kremlin said Sunday.
“Putin has never refused such a meeting and it would be hypothetically possible but in order for it to take place there would need to be a detailed document prepared by the two delegations,” the Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told local TV.
“We’re not talking about ideas, but rather a specific written document.”
The comments from the Kremlin doused cold water on more optimistic statements from the Ukrainian delegation, which earlier said that peace talks had reached a stage where the two leaders could meet in the near future.EFE
