Croatia opens first ‘selfie-room’ in Zagreb

Zagreb, Apr 23 (EFE).- Zagreb has opened its first “selfie room” to the public, providing a new generation of smartphone photographers with a range of different scenarios and backdrops to snap self-portraits and upload them for their social media followers.

The small venue in the center of the Croatian capital offers eight different backdrops, from a commercial flight to a traditional red London phone booth or a bathtub filled with cash.

Enamored couples will likely take more photos of themselves cuddling in a romantic flower garden or climbing a stairway to the clouds, while children will probably prefer selfies in the playroom full of toys.

“We have eight scenes with good backgrounds, where people can have fun. In this time of the pandemic there is little occasion like this to make up and have fun, laugh, and have from all that some nice memories,” selfie room owner Kruna Josimovic explains to Efe.

She says that people of all ages have expressed interest in visiting the place.

“Boyfriends, husbands, entire families, mothers with daughters, groups of teenagers come. We already have reservations for wedding photos, while young artists want to make their first music spots here,” he added.

Tickets to Croatia’s first selfie room cost 50 kuna (about 7 euros) per hour per person.

Due to precautionary coronavirus measures, the maximum number of people per group is seven at a time. EFE
