London, May 24 (EFE).- West Ham’s Kurt Zouma on Tuesday pleaded guilty to two animal welfare offences after video footage showed him hitting and kicking a pet cat.
The French defender appeared before London’s Thames Magistrates’ Court, where he faced charges for causing damage to the animals and for preventing it from being harmed.
The incident occurred in January, when footage of Zouma kicking his cat and chasing it with a slipper was shared by his brother Yoan, triggering a public outcry.
After the incidents, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) took custody of his two pet cats. EFE
