Fiorentina, Gattuso part ways less than month after appointment

Rome, Jun 17 (EFE).- Fiorentina head coach Gennaro Gattuso has left his position after just over three weeks, the Serie A club announced Thursday.

“ACF Fiorentina and Mister Rino Gattuso, by mutual agreement, have decided not to follow up on the previous agreements and therefore not to start the next football season together,” the Florence-based club said in a statement.

“The Company immediately set to work to identify a technical choice that will guide the Viola team towards the results that Fiorentina and the City of Florence deserve.”

Gattuso was appointed on 25 May, two days after leaving Napoli. His relationship with the board deteriorated due to disagreements over player transfers.EFE
