Laguardia fires Alaves to 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid

Sports Desk, Sep 25 (EFE).- An early goal from Victor Laguardia on Saturday gave Alaves a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid, their first win of the season.

Laguardia gave Alaves the lead four minutes into the game, on a header that bounced off the ground into the goal, off a corner by Ruben Duarte.

This ended Atletico Madrid’s unbeaten start to the season, as the defending champions had claimed four wins and two draws.

The defeat leaves Atletico in the second spot in LaLiga standing with 14 points, one more than third-placed Real Sociedad, who will play Elche on Sunday.

Alaves, meanwhile, are second to last having bagged their first three points of the season. EFE
