Late goals from Rice, Jesus seal dramatic win for Arsenal vs Man Utd

London, Sep 3 (EFE).- Arsenal scored two goals deep into stoppage time as they beat Manchester United 3-1 to win a thrilling match at the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday.
The visitors thought they had taken a dramatic lead in the 87th minute when substitute Alejandro Garnacho raced clear to score, only for the effort to be ruled out by the VAR for offside.
The reprieve breathed life into Arsenal, who had been struggling for the game’s last quarter of an hour after largely dominating, and the home side pushed forward for a winner.
Declan Rice got the crucial second goal as he smashed in at the near post, before Gabriel Jesus coolly finished off a counter attack as United chased an equalizer.
The game was intense but scrappy, with Arsenal controlling most of the territory and possession but United always posing a threat on the counter.
That was how the visitors broke the deadlock, when Marcus Rashford was released by Christian Eriksen before cutting inside and scoring in typical fashion.
But the Gunners hit back immediately, some good interplay down the left culminating in Martin Martin Ødegaard’s low, left-footed strike.
The win lifts Arsenal into fifth, while United are 11th, with both having played four matches. EFE
