Lewandowski double as Bayern hammer Leverkusen 5-1

Sports Desk, Oct 17 (EFE).- Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Bayern Munich destroyed Bayer Leverkusen after scoring an astonishing five goals before half-time.

The Bavarians underlined their dominance of German soccer by dismantling the home side, who went into the game in second place, level on points with the reigning champions.

Lewandowski got the rout started with a brilliant back-heel finish after just three minutes, before doubling his tally with half an hour on the clock.

That sparked a flurry of goals in the next seven minutes, with Serge Gnabry twice netting after Thomas Mueller had also got in on the goal fest.

Leverkusen were able to stem the tide in the second half, and notched a goal of their own when Czech striker Patrick Schick finished well past Manuel Neuer on 55 minutes. EFE
