Sports Desk, Jul 18 (EFE).- Robert Lewandowski on Monday said he was joining FC Barcelona to help the team get back on track and win titles.
“I am here to help Barcelona to be on the top and to win as many titles as possible,” the Polish forward said upon his arrival in the United States, where he will join his new teammates for a preseason tour.
The Catalan club will reportedly pay some 45 million euros, plus 5 million in variables, to sign the 34-year-old on a three-year contract from Bayern Munich.
“The last few days were very long, but in the end, the deal is done so now I am going to focus on a new chapter, a new challenge, but always I am the guy who wants to win not only the game but the titles,” he added.
Lewandowski said that Barça presented him the opportunity to fulfill his wish of playing in LaLiga, adding that a chat with head coach Xavi convinced him to join the club. EFE
