Lionel Messi’s father and agent confirms Barça legend will play for PSG

Barcelona/Paris, Aug 10 (EFE).- Jorge Messi, father and agent of football superstar Lionel Messi, confirmed on Tuesday the former Barça forward will transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in the coming season.

On his arrival at Barcelona airport, Jorge Messi answered a concise “yes” to journalists asking if his son would sign with the Parisian team on Tuesday.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner reached an agreement to join PSG on Tuesday and will arrive in Paris in the coming hours to undergo a medical examination and sign a deal for two years with the option for a third season, according to French media L’Equipe.

Hundreds of PSG supporters gathered at the doors of the private airport of Le Bourget where Messi is expected to arrive Tuesday.

At 8am local time, police were ordered to prepare security measures to accommodate the Argentine star’s rumored arrival.

On Monday, Paris supporters crowded the stadium and the official PSG store, where many of them demanded Messi PSG shirts, despite negotiations still being underway at the time. EFE
