Child Scares Off Armed Robber In East Memphis
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/WREG) — Un niño pequeño asustó a un asaltante armado en el este de Memphis.
Sucedió cuando, según los informes, observó cómo un ladrón sostenía un arma en la cabeza de su padre en el camino de entrada en la calle Merrycrest.
La madre del niño estaba demasiado asustada para mostrar su rostro, pero a través de un intérprete dijo lo que le sucedió a su esposo e hijos.
“Asaltaron a mi esposo frente a mi casa. Fue a la tienda, volvió a casa y se llevó a los niños. Cuando se sacaba al niño del carro es cuando sucedió”, dijo.
Fue justo después de las 9 de la noche del miércoles.
Ella dice que su esposo llevó a su niño pequeño cuando su hijo de 4 años quedó atrás. Estaban a unos pasos de la puerta cuando un hombre armado corrió y comenzó a golpear a su marido.
“Tenía a mi esposo. El hombre le puso una pistola en la cabeza”, dijo la madre.
Su esposo trató de defenderse, causando la caída de su hijo de dos años.
“El bebé comenzó a llorar, y todos salimos de la casa”, dijo.
El llanto del niño aparentemente asustó al asaltante. Se subió a un automóvil y salió a toda velocidad antes de que la policía pudiera llegar allí.
Lo que es aún más desconcertante es que Crime Tracker de MPD muestra 26 robos dentro de una milla en los últimos tres meses.
Al menos ocho de ellos involucraron víctimas hispanas.

MEMPHIS, TN (WREG) — A young child scared off an armed-robber in East Memphis.
It happened as he reportedly watched as stranger hold a gun to his father’s head in their driveway on Merrycrest.
The child’s mother was too scared to show her face, but through a translator, she told WREG what happened to her husband and children.
“They assaulted my husband in front of my house. He went to the store, came back home and took the kids out. When he was taking the youngest out of the car is when it happened,” she said.
It was just after 9 Wednesday night.
She says her husband carried their toddler as their 4-year-old trailed behind. They were feet away from the door when an armed man ran up and started chocking her husband.
“He had my husband. The man put a gun to his head,” the mother said.
Her husband tried to fight back, causing his 2-year-old to fall.
“The baby started crying, and we all came out of the house,” she said.
The child’s loud cry apparently frightened the armed man. He hopped into a clack car and sped off before police could get there.
What’s even more unnerving is MPD’s Crime Tracker shows 26 robberies within a mile over the past three months.
At least eight of them involved Hispanic victims.
It’s unclear if any are connected.
