Madrid hosts first ever official F1 exhibition, without Aston Martin

Madrid, Mar 23 (EFE).- The first official Formula One exhibition, which will open its doors on March 24 in Madrid, although without the participation of legendary English team Aston Martin.

“The reason they are not contributing is because they told me that they need to concentrate on being a great Formula 1 racing team and I think they have succeeded in that,” Tim Harvey, the show’s chief curator, said.

“If you look at the results from the last two races, and obviously now they’ve got another truly great driver in Fernando Alonso so I fully respect their decision,” he added.

Alonso, a two-time world champion, has secured two consecutive podium finishes so far this season for Aston Martin, his first since joining the team.

The exhibition tells the story of “how what is happening in the sport today has its roots many years ago, and how innovations and challenges that exist in the sport today – design and technology challenges – almost have a connectivity back to previous eras in the sport,” Harvey explained.

The exhibition has seven rooms, where fans can enjoy the history of Formula One from its beginnings, including the most iconic cars, to the present day. It also looks to the future for the competition. EFE
