Anti-establishment INT wins general elections in Bulgaria

Sofia, Jul 12 (EFE).- Bulgaria’s anti-establishment party There Is Such a Nation (INT) led by singer-songwriter Slavi Trionov won general elections after counting 99 percent of the votes, the electoral commission announced on Monday.

INT obtained 23.91 percent of the votes, followed by Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) led by former prime minister Boiko Borisov with 23.69 percent of the votes.

This is the first time Borisov loses elections since 2009 after failing to form a coalition after winning April’s vote.

Trionov announced on Monday that his party will not enter any alliance, but will try to rule alone and in a minority.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party came third with 13.51 percent, followed by democratic Bulgaria, with 12.56 percent; Movement for Rights and Freedoms (of the Turkish minority), with 10.66 percent, and Stand Up Bulgaria! Mafia out! 5.03 percent. EFE
