Man Arrested After Mass Shooting at Arkansas Car Show, Officials Say

DUMAS, AR (FOX13Memphis.com) — The Arkansas State Police have arrested a man in connection to the shooting that killed one and injured several people at a car show in Dumas, Ark.
Brandon Deandra Knight, 22, of Jacksonville, was arrested after being released from a Dumas hospital for the shooting that happened on March 19, according to officials.
Six children were among 28 people wounded during what state police called the largest mass shooting in Arkansas history.
Col. Bill Bryant, director of the Arkansas State Police, confirmed the revised casualty count during a news conference. He also identified the victim who died in the shooting as 23-year-old Cameron Schaffer.
The shooting occurred outside the annual Hood-Nic car show in Dumas, Arkansas.
The injured children ranged in age from 19 months to 11 years old and all suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials with Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
According to ASP, Knight is charged with battery, first-degree and aggravated assault. He is being held at the Dumas City Jail and will be scheduled for a first appearance court hearing.
The state police investigation remains in an active status and no further information regarding the arrest is available, a release said.
