Mbappé is world’s most expensive player, says study

London, Feb 24 (efe-epa).- Paris Saint Germain’s French forward Kylian Mbappé is the world’s most expensive player with an estimated value of 185 million euros, according to a study by KPMG Football Benchmark.

Although the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner remained on top of the list, his value dropped by 15 million euro ($18.2 million) compared to January 2020.

Tottenham’s English forward Harry Kane and Manchester City’s English forward Raheem Sterling followed Mbappé on the list with an estimated value of 125 million each.

The top-10 features Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho (118 millon), Neymar (115 million), Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (115 million), Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford (115 million), Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (114 million) and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold (111 million) and Sadio Mané (110 millions).

Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland did not make the top-10 as he came 11th with an estimated value of 110 million.

Barcelona’s Pedri was the player whose estimated value increased most — 26 million compared to last year — followed by Manchester City’s Phil Foden, whose price tag jumped by 20 million euros. EFE-EPA
