MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — El futuro de la comida puede ser local, según el objetivo de cuatro visionarios que han unido sus recursos para sacar adelante una compañía que revolucionará lo que comemos: Memphis Meats.

La idea se basa en “cultivar” la carne en un ambiente rico en nutrientes y otras sustancias que la ayudan a “crecer” para luego poder ser utilizada para hacer hamburguesas, filetes, etc.

Esto ayuda a que no se utilicen animales, sino sólo células para iniciar el cultivo, y por consiguiente evitar la cría, el crecimiento y la matanza de animales que acostumbramos usar para el consumo humano.

Richard Branson, junto con Bill Gates, Cargill y Kimball Musk, reunieron millones de dólares para esta iniciativa que se implementaró primero en China y después en el resto del mundo, para alimentar con esta innovativa carne que promete no sólo combatir el hambre, sino también preservar más recursos naturales.

Ahora la cuestión sería si la población en general, sobre todo en países desarrollados, está preparada para probar esta carne sin los prejuicios u otros posibles impedimentos que podrían encontrarse los desarrolladores de esta propuesta.

MEMPHIS, TN (LPL) — The future of food can be local, according to the vision of four visionaries who have joined their resources to take forward a company that will revolutionize what we eat: Memphis Meats.

The idea is based on “cultivating” the meat in an environment rich in nutrients and other substances that help “grow” and be able to use it to make hamburgers, steaks, etc.

This helps not to use animals, because only cells to start the process, and therefore avoiding the breeding, growth, killing of animals that we used to use for human consumption.

Now the question would be if the population in general, especially in developed countries, are prepared to taste this meat without the prejudices or other possible impediments that the developers of this proposal could face.
