Real Madrid’s Vinicius, Courtois, Valverde, Camavinga positive for Covid-19

Madrid, Dec 29 (EFE).- Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, Thibaut Courtois, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga have tested positive for Covid-19, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The four players will now self-isolate and, therefore, miss the La Liga game against Getafe on January 2.

All members of the squad, led by Carlo Ancelotti, have been subjected to PCR testing after returning from their Christmas break, which saw Vinicius flying to the United States, Courtois to the United Arab Emirates, Valverde to Argentina and Camavinga to France.

“Unfortunately, and despite complying with all the measures, I have tested positive for Covid in the last control. Although I do not have any symptoms, I am at home following the corresponding protocol and training to return as soon as possible. Thank you all!” Courtois wrote on Twitter.

Earlier this month, six players including Marco Asensio, Marcelo, Luka Modric, and Gareth Bale, were infected with Covid-19. All of whom have now recovered.

The Spanish club will carry out PCR tests on all players again on Thursday, with an aim to avoid a new outbreak of the virus.EFE
