Doha, Dec 18 (EFE).- Leo Messi scored the first goal of Sunday’s World Cup final placing the Argentinians in the lead against France.
The penalty spot kick was given after Ousmane Dembélé fouled María leading to Messi’s goal in minute 23.
A second goal by Ángel Di María in minute 36 doubled the Albiceleste’s advantage ahead of the halftime whistle.
French coach, Didier Deschamps, made a double substitution in the 40th minute and swapped winger Dembélé and forward Giroud for Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani. EFE
