Messi in good physical condition ahead of Mexico clash: Argentina coach

Doha, Nov 25 (EFE).- Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni dismissed rumors about Lionel Messi’s health and confirmed that the star is in good physical condition to help the team qualify for the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“Messi is fine and more than ever we need everyone, him and his teammates. Physically he is fine and morally he is fine. There is no problem,” Scaloni told the press on Friday.

“It is normal for a debutant to feel the typical belly-aches when representing a national team like Argentina, which is different from the rest of the national teams,” he explained.

Argentina will be facing Mexico for their second match in Qatar, after a shock 2-1 loss against Saudi Arabia.

“We’re already thinking about Mexico, which is a different game to the one against Saudi Arabia, although we’re not going to change the way we play. We have to turn the page and think that we have to win,” Scaloni said.

“Mexico is a very good team with a very clear idea of the game. They have an attacking soccer style and a great coach.

“There is a whole country waiting for us to do well,” he added. EFE
