Mobile team boosts South Africa’s coronavirus vaccination rollout

Cape Town, South Africa, Sep 7 (EFE).- A mobile vaccination team has been put in motion in Cape Town, South Africa’s second-largest city, to reinforce the country’s vaccination drive in remote areas.

The Masiphumelele Community Center health workers in cooperation with several NGOs and the government are delivering the jabs to people who live far from vaccination centers.

So far, a total of 13,673,651 vaccine doses have been administered in South Africa, which has 85 million inhabitants, according to the Health Ministry’s latest data.

On Monday, South Africa reported 4,118 new cases and 198 deaths, bringing the total tally to 2,824,063 infections and 83,617 fatalities since the pandemic began. EFE
