Celebrated Community Activist Dubbed Mayor of Frayser Dies
MEMPHIS, TN (LPL/localmemphis.com) — Una querida activista comunitaria en Frayser está siendo recordada por sus seres queridos. Christine Grandberry falleció la semana pasada después de una batalla contra el Alzheimer.
La mujer de 71 años era una voz familiar en 201 Poplar, como voluntaria en el Centro de Justicia Criminal del Condado de Shelby.
La Sra. Grandberry fue diagnosticada con Alzheimer y demencia y vivía en la comodidad de su hogar antes de su fallecimiento el viernes pasado. Docenas de sus certificados, premios y reconocimientos se exhiben en toda su casa.
El funeral de Grandberry será el sábado 11 de enero en la Iglesia Bautista New Hope en Orange Mound. La visita comienza a las 10 a.m. y el servicio funerario comienza al mediodía.

MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) — A celebrated community activist in Frayser is being remembered by loved ones. Christine Grandberry passed last week after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
The 71-year-old was a familiar voice at 201 Poplar, volunteering in the Shelby County Criminal Justice Center.
Ms. Grandberry was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia and was living in the comfort of her home before she passed last Friday. Dozens of her certificates, awards, and accolades are displayed throughout her home.
Grandberry’s funeral will be Saturday, January 11, at New Hope Baptist Church in Orange Mound. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and the funeral service starts at noon.
