Zelenskyy: To fulfil Russia’s ultimatum they have to destroy us all

Lviv, Ukraine, Mar 21 (EFE).- Ukraine will not bow to Russia’s ultimatums to hand over cities including Kyiv, Mariupol and Kharkiv, president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday.

Russia Sunday gave Ukrainian forces an ultimatums to surrender and leave Mariupol “without arms” by Monday morning, something Kyiv described as “delirium”.

“Ukraine will not be able to fulfil the ultimatum,” Zelenskyy said in an interview with European media, according to excerpts published by local media.

“We won’t be able to do it physically. How can this be done? They would have to eliminate us all and then their ultimatum will automatically be fulfilled,” he added.

Some 400,000 people have been trapped in Mariupol for over two weeks amid heavy shelling that has cut off central electricity, heating and water supplies, according to local sources. EFE
